SDEC at James Paget University Hospital, Norfolk

This project consisted the refurbish and re-purpose of an existing area in the hospital to be used as the ‘Same Day Emergency Care Unit’.

The initial part of the contract considered of survey works of the existing area to aid with the consultant’s design. Eyre Group were tasked with maintaining and re-purposing MEP services
whilst stripping out services that were surplus to requirement.

Once this had been completed, the team undertook a complex design with some significant spatial and time restraints to produce a start of the art SDEC area that boasts 12 trolley bay
areas, 8 chair bay areas, toilet facilities, staff areas and comfort driven reception areas. The unit has been furnished with a ground breaking lighting and monitoring system that is being
trialled at the hospital which could be rolled on future projects.

Eyre’s carried out the full MEP install with only Medical Gases install being retained by the Trust:
