Bob Champion Research & Education Building (NMRB)

The £19m building is managed by UEA in partnership with the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and provides state of the art laboratories for our research teams to undertake world class research into prostate cancer, antibiotic resistance disease, musculo-skeletal disease and gastrointestinal diseases.

As well as the usual design challenges the project also needed to achieve a BREEAM rating of “Very Good”.

The nature of the project demanded that we installed many specialist systems including:

  • Medical gases
  • Fume cupboards and other specialist extracts
  • Cold rooms
  • Nitrogen store
  • HV transformer
  • Back-up generator
  • PV system
