CAD / Revit Engineer

Background

As the CAD Engineer, you will provide drawing support to the Design Managers and Project Managers, ensuring design drawings are produced using the Eyre Group standards and controlled in-line with our QA systems.

Reporting to the Design Managers, this is a position within our business who will work within a support team responsible for timely quality drawing production from pre-contract to as installed.

The ability to complete the following tasks are essential to the role:

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of working drawings, ensuring the compliance with Eyre Group Standards, statutory requirements, and the project brief
  • Production of design output using BIM software appropriate to the engineering discipline, e.g. REVIT, 3D, etc
  • Understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and procedures, subject to experience
  • Coordination of services to installation standard
  • In consultation with Engineers, decide the format and scope of design data required for the project (drawings, schedules, specifications etc.)
  • Interpret instructions and outputs from senior staff on the technical content of drawings
  • Translate standard/proprietary manufacturer’s details onto working drawings
  • Ensure the dimensional accuracy and compliance with all relevant project drawings
  • When necessary, visit site and carry out level/measured surveying
  • Production of sections and details
  • Depending on the type, urgency, and complexity of a project, undertake project coordination/ DTL role. Controlling the preparation and timely issue of design data in accordance with QA procedures and Contractors Programme
  • Mentoring, support, and supervision of Trainees / T-Level Students
  • On every project, work closely with other internal and external design team members to ensure that EYRE design output is compliant with both specification and project constraints, and fully dimensionally coordinated
  • Effectively communicate with the design team to establish programme and key dates for

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • The following working knowledge and training is essential to the role:

  • 3 years prior experience in drawing production role
  • General Construction / Engineering detailing
  • Computer Aided Design Software (AutoCAD, REVIT/ Civils 3D)
  • Full driving licence

  • The following training is beneficial to the role:

  • Working knowledge of Building services - including Mechanical ,Electrical Plumbing
  • Revit and Auto CAD certification
